Herkimer - Mrs. Wanda M. Coughlin, 92, formerly of E. Smith St passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 in Folts Home. She was born in Herkimer on July 25, 1918, the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Zaleski Czernecki and she attended Herkimer Schools. She was married to Louis G. Coughlin on November 21, 1940 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. Mr. Coughlin passed away on December 21, 1986. Mrs. Coughlin was an Armature Winder for Chicago Pneumatic, Utica for many years until her retirement in 1973. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a member of it's Rosary Society and Sacred Heart Society and a member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers. Wanda is survived by one son and daughter in law, Patrick & Karen Coughlin of South Boston, VA, two granddaughters, Cathy & her husband, Randy Sisk and Susan Coughlin; three sisters in law, Mary Czernecki of E. Herkimer, Anne Czernecki and Jean Czernecki both of Herkimer and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by six brothers, Ludwick Czernecki on May 6, 1963, Leopold (Shrimpi) Czernecki on January 27, 1973, Leonard Czernecki on September 3, 1982, Edwin J (Blonde) Czernecki, Sr. on August 30, 1984, Alphonse (Kaiser) Czernecki on January 31, 1990 and Zenon (Zeke) Czernecki on October 8, 1997 and one sister, Ann Jackson on December 11, 1986. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-6 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
