Aunt Mary or as Uncle John used to call you, Manya.
You were like another Mother to me and I will always remember our times together fishing with you and Uncle John at Sylvan Beach, Otsego and Canadarago lakes.
Other than just an Aunt or a Mother to me growing up, you were also like an older Sister that I never had, telling me all l the secrets of life that I was afraid to ask other people. But you were willing to give your opinion and perspective.
I'll never forget the secret tin candy pot in Grandma's lower cupboard in the kitchen next to the stove that you would hide candy in for David and me and all the years that went by before my father found out about it.
I remember being a kid and spending weeks during summer vacation from school at the apartment on Cottage Place in Utica and thinking what it would be like living in a big city.
Now after living in Los Angeles for over 40 years, I still remember what the "big city life" was like back then.
I loved you and Uncle John so much and still relish the time that both of you came out here and I had the chance to show you around L.A. and Orange County. The first time you stuck your foot into the Pacific Ocean and your surprise just how cold the water was.
I remember your child like fascination when you took the tour of The Queen Mary and how you ran around with youthful abandon at Knott's Berry Farm. Those memories are priceless,
I will always love and cherish you and Uncle John with all my heart.
I still hear your voices and feel the traces you've left on my soul.
I miss you !
Your nephew, Nicky
