Frankfort - Mr. Angelo A. Aiello, 90, of 228 W. Main St. passed away Friday,September 10, 2010 in the Folts Home, Herkimer.
Angelo was born in Frankfort on September 10, 1920, the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Capitano Aiello and he attended Frankfort schools. He faithfully served his country in the US Army during World War II and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant on November 14, 1945. Angelo was married to Antoinette "Nettie" Fragale on July 9, 1949 in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Utica. Mrs. Aiello passed away on January 23, 2006. Mr. Aiello was a Cabinet Maker for the Library Bureau, Herkimer for many years until his retirement in 1983. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the American Legion Post #845.
Angelo is survived by one daughter, Catherine Marrotta of Frankfort; two sons and one daughter in law, Salvatore Aiello of Warwick, RI and Angelo and Valerie Aiello of Herkimer; his grandchildren, Kelly Aiello, Adrienne Aiello, Alexis Marrotta and Matthew Marrotta; one sister, Caroline Drapalski of Stittville; one brother, Capt. Joseph Aiello of Frankfort; his daughter in law, Karen Aiello of San Juan Capistrano, CA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Joseph Aiello on December 24, 2007; his son in law, Reid Marrotta on November 3, 2008; two brothers, John Sarullo and Anthony Nan Aiello; and two sisters, Mary Aiello and Mary Polizzi.
His funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:00 am at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
