To Mary's family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear that Mary was gone. She was a true friend and I'll miss her very much. She was an amazing person and never once stopped advocating for those who needed her voice. She was so proud of her family especially her children and the children of her siblings. Ironically, she sent me a card a couple of weeks ago. I had taped it above my desk where it is now. It reads "One thing God has spoken, Two things I have heard: That you, O God, are strong, And that you, O Lord, are loving. Psalm 62:11&12". A strong, smart and caring woman. Mary, I guess it's time to say good bye for now. You have been in my thoughts and prayers since I received the terrible news. I am devastated by the loss of my dear cousin, Mary Mag. My thoughts race back to so many childhood wonderful aventures we shared and as we matured into the friendship we enjoyed and maintained into adulthood I am so glad we were able to spend a wonderful week in Palm Springs with Aunt Rose, Dolores, Damiao and Drew. I expected so many more of these reunions.
However it seems the creator and the Universe has different plans for you. I know for sure that you rise to those expectations.

Dear Cousins,
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Mary's sudden and untimely passing. I have fond memories of her spending time with us while she attended law school at Pace. She was kind, loving, strong, and so accomplished, and left an indelible mark on all whose lives she touched. Mary was one of my best friends in high school. I still have the life size "get well" card she made for me when I was in the hospital sophomore year. A former classmate of Mary's from UCA, we hadn't seen each other in probably at least 20 years. I had always liked Mary and felt an instant connection with her during our many classes together in High School. At our recent 45th Reunion, Mary approached me and called out my name with a look on her face that looked like she was wondering if I would remember her... When I turned around, I recognized her IMMEDIATELY--despite the many years it had been since we had seen one another--and called out her name loudly and joyfully which gave her a deep, wonderful smile!!
