Obituary of Carolyn Ashe

Frankfort - Dolgeville Mrs. Carolyn Ashe, 93, formerly of Litchfield Manor and Dolgeville, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 in Valley Health Services. She was born in Little Falls on August 11, 1916, the daughter of the late Francis and Tekla Karponski Skibinski. She attended Little Falls schools and graduated from Little Falls High School. She was married to Kendrick P. "Moe" Ashe on July 2, 1938 in St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls. Mr. Ashe passed away on December 7, 1997. Mrs. Ashe was employed as a Seamstress for Little Frocks, Little Falls until her retirement in 1981 after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, the Young At Heart Senior Citizens, Frankfort and the Dolgeville Senior Citizens. She was a former member of the Catholic Women's Club of St. Joseph's Church, Dolgeville and a Dolgeville Republican Committee-Woman for many years. Carolyn was an avid New York Yankees fan. She loved to cook, bake and crochet. Carolyn is survived by three sons and daughters in law, Kendrick F. and Francine Ashe of Frankfort, Harold and Judy Ashe of Tully and Donn and Linda Ashe of Dolgeville; one brother, Julian "Zim" Skibinski of DE.; her grandchildren whom she loved very much, David Ashe, Kendrick J. and his wife, Erin Ashe, Debbie Ashe and her companion, Malcolm Adam, Gayle and her husband, Scott Samolis and Donn and his wife, Diane Ashe; ten great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; her sister in law, Vicky Skibinski of Schenectady; a special niece, Paula Winters and her family of Central Square; her special godson, Ray DeCarr Jr. of Marcy; her extended family, Phyllis Miles and family, George and Frances Gonyea and family and John and Rosemary Harmon and family, her many friends at Litchfield Manor and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Antonia Tassie Klimacek and Wanda Valent and three brothers, Walter Skibinski, John Skibinski and Barney Skibinski. Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barratt, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Dolgeville Cemetery, Dolgeville. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 8:30 - 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
