Frankfort - Mrs. Bella Bono, 93, devoted wife of the late Jack Bono, formerly of Litchfield Rd., passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center with her family by her side. She was born in Little Falls on December 19, 1921, the daughter of the late Michael and Apolonia Petunia Buttiglione and she attended Herkimer schools. She was married to Jack Bono on November 23, 1940 in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. They shared a blessed union of more than 60 years until Jack's passing on February 5, 2002. Bella was employed for GE in Utica for many years and worked in the family business. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens. Bella is survived by one son and daughter in law, James and Toni Bono of Wilmington, NC; three daughters and two sons in law, Phyllis and James Caruso and Linda DiMartin, all of Frankfort and Mary Ann and Rick Plano of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; eight beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Kim Todd, James and Janine Caruso, Mark Caruso and his partner, David Bemus, Jessica DiMartin and her fiancé, Michael Atkinson, Sam and Dena DiMartin, Vanessa Curly, Erica and Danny Arrias and Luke and Nicole Plano; fourteen great-grandchildren, Dylan, Zachary, Isabella, Gabriella, Jordyn, Jack, Madeline, Olivia, Michael, Julianna, Ellianna, Marciano, Angelina and Coleton; one great-great granddaughter, Naomi; and her in laws, Josephine McGraw, Joyce Hardee and Jean Bono and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son in law, Sam DiMartin and three sisters, Rockina Alturmuro, Pollina Savino and Mary Tangorra. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 4 - 8 PM in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young at Heart Seniors will meet Wednesday evening at 4:15 PM at the funeral home for services. Bella's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center for the kindness shown to Bella and her family.
