Frankfort - Mr. Joseph Zep Bellino, 81, of 212 Sixth Ave passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born in Frankfort on St. Joseph's Day, March 19, 1928, the son of the late Dominick and Mamie Diego Bellino and he attended Frankfort schools. He served with the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was Honorably Discharged on November 28, 1947. He was married to Rose A. Palumbo on October 2, 1955 in St. Mary's Church. Mrs. Bellino passed away on December 28, 1989. Zep was employed as the Group Leader/ Plumber Steam Fitter for GE, Utica for many years until his retirement in 1986. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Young At Heart Senior Citizens and served on its Board of Directors and General Electric's Suggestion Hall of Fame. He enjoyed his weekly poker games with the boys and trips to the casino.
Zep is survived by one son & daughter in law, Joseph & Denise Bellino Jr of Frankfort; one daughter, Marie Bellino - Mc Lean of Niskayuna; his grandchildren, Patrick Bellino & his girl friend, Paige Pronovost, Nicole & her husband, Michael Giambrone, Gemma Mc Lean and Samantha Mc Lean; faithful loving companion, Josephine Mezza of Frankfort; his in laws, Jennie Bellino, Rose Bellino, Joseph Pianella, Frank & Terry Palumbo, Phyllis & Michael Fiorentino, Vita Palumbo and James & Mary Fran Palumbo; his great grandson, Jack Michael Giambrone and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son in law, Robert Mc Lean on May 29, 2001, three brothers, Charles Hafey Bellino, George Bellino and Frank Marley Bellino and two sisters, Mary Gallo and Catherine Pianella.
His funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barratt and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens will meet Sunday afternoon at 4:30 at the funeral home for services.
Contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1508 Genesee St, Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
