I am very saddened by the news media putting out so much personal info about the family. I realize that it is classified for public view, however sometimes we need to use discretion. The family's hearts are more important than a news article.
Its been over a year and I just want to let the family and friends know that my heart is aching for you. You all will continue to be in my prayers.
May you continue to seek the refuge of God and rise like eagles under His care.
God Bless

Our sincere condolences to the children of Kristin and her whole family.
Nobody knows why these things happen to good people and it is so hard to understand the great loss in our lives.
We have to believe that She will be watching over all those she loved and those whose lives she touched.
May the children always know how much she loved them and get through this knowing she will always be a part of them and will always see their accomplishments in life.
May God be with you all.
We are so very sorry for this tragic loss of a sweet, loving child, mother, sister, friend.
May God comfort you all during this sad time.

Dear Mr. Palumbo, Mrs. Palumbo, Gina and Joe,
I am so sorry for what you have to endure with the loss of Kristin. I can't imagine your pain and wish there was a way to take it all way. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, especially Kristin's children.
A friend recently shared this with me:
Your Mother is Always With You - Anonymous
When you need mom most, don't forget she's still a part of you.
Your mother is always with you......
She's the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.
She's the smell of bleach in
your freshly laundered socks.
She's the cool hand on your
brow when you're not well.
Your mother lives inside
your laughter. She's crystallized
in every tear drop...
She's the place you came from,
your first home. She's the map you
follow with every step that you take.
She's your first love and your first heart
break....and nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, Not space...
Not even death....
will ever separate you
from your mother....
You carry her inside of you....

"Act in such a way that all those who come in contact with you will go away joyful. Sow happiness about you because you have received much from God; give, then, generously to others. They should take leave of you with their hearts filled with joy, even if they have no more than touched the hem of your garment." from the Diary of Saint Faustina.
How do we honor the life of such a radiant soul, as Kristin? We remember the gifts she gave each and every day, because she lived the life as described in this quote. For having touched and loved so many souls on earth, her reward is God's eternal love in heaven. To Kristin's children: She loved you beyond words. Know that even though she is no longer visible to you, she is still with you every minute of each day. Love cannot be taken away by death. You all have a very special angel and she would want you to know that she is with you. Love, a friend.

I graduated nursing school with Kristin. I remember her as a beautiful, intelligent, kind woman who loved her family dearly. She was pregnant during school with her youngest, and I clearly remember thinking how strong and driven she was to endure the task of completing school, raise a family, and add to her family all at the same time. Such a tragedy to have lost her. Her children are constantly in my thoughts. Rest in Peace Kristin.

Dear Catherine, Joey and family. We are so sorry and wish there were magic words that we had to make all things better. Simply, we will always have you in our prayers along with our church family. Here is a passage from the Bible spoken by Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:28-30) that hopefully will bring peace.
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I a meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Always remember that our Lord loves you and will always be by your side. God Bless You All.

I cannot begin to express the sadness I feel in my heart. I met Kristin 2 years ago when she started to work on labor and delivery at St Lukes. I had the pleasure of orienting her to this position for 4 months. During that first week I too had a tragic death in my family and when I came back to work I was hoping they had assigned her to someone else. They hadn't. After a month I realized why. Kristin was very insightful about what I was going through and helped me tremendously with her words, faith and books. I'm grateful that I was able to help her experience labor/delivery as a nurse. She said it was something she had always wanted to do.
I pray that your family can find peace and strength. My Sincere condolences.

I'm Gone now, but I'm still very near.
Death can never separate us.
Each time you feel a gentle breeze,
It's my hand caressing your face.
Each time the wind blows,
It carries my voice whispering your name.
When the wind blows your hair ever so slightly,
Think of it as me pushing a few stray hairs back in place.
When you feel a few raindrops fall on your face,
It's me placing soft kisses.
At night look up in the sky and see the stars shining so brightly.
I'm one of those stars and I'm winking at you and smiling with delight.
For never forget you're the apple of my eye.

You were right there for me
In my dreams I'll always see you soar above the sky
In my heart there'll always be a place for you for all my life

And everywhere I am, there you'll be
And everywhere I am, there you'll be
You know you showed me how it feels
To feel the sky within my reach
And I always will remember all the strength you gave to me

I do not know anyone in this family but I cannot get this tragic event out of my head. I have 4 children also...they, too, are my world and I wonder what would happen if I, like Kristen, was taken from them far too soon. I would hope they remembered how much I loved them and treasured every first step, every smile, every tear, every moment. I would hope they would rely on the strength of family, friends, prayer and the strength within themselves. And I would hope that just when they thought all hope was lost, that they would find one last memory of me to grasp onto and carry them through the rest of their lives. I hope all the same things for Kristen's children.

The warmth of her smile
The softness of her touch
Her laugh that caused joy
when you were sad and down
The way she ruffled your hair
in a loving, motherly way
The way she hugged you
just so right
The way she called you to say hello
made you feel special and warm
The times she surprised you
with her little gifts full of love
The many ways she touched hearts
as a daughter, sister, cousin, niece
and mother
May you wrap yourselves with the special quilt
a warm, soft quilt made of memories
as she embraces you.
A quilt that knows no fabric or thread
but has beautiful memories woven together.
Pass on to others the smiles and love she gave
and forever will her candle burn bright.
God Bless to you all in your time of sorrow.

My heart aches for Kristin's children and family.
I can't imagine what they must be going through. I met Kristin many many years ago when we worked together at the Charlestown Mall. We quickly became friends; I'll always remember how much fun we had and what a truly wonderful person she was. Although we lost touch once we were married and I moved out of state, I will never forget her smile or her laughter.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her children family. May God give them the strength, love and support they need to get through this devastating time in their lives.

Dear Palumbo and Longo Family,
It is with deep sympathy and regret that I write to you under these circumstances. In December 2008, I attended training with Kristin. For the week, we spent some down time together talking when the others went off for break sessions. It was during those times, that I was allowed to get to know what her passions and desires were:
1) To get back home to her family as soon as possible because she loved and missed you all so much.
2) To get some rest-for she was always was helping others and giving so much of herself. 3) To take in some shopping because she was one of the "sharpest" dressers around.
You're in my prayers Joey, Gianna, Catherine, Jared, and families.

"If Tomorrow Never Comes"
If I knew it would be the last time
that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute or two
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything right.
There will always be another day
to say our "I love you's",
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do's?"
But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget,
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight..
So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today,
whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear,
Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me,"
"thank you" or "it's okay".
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

For about nine years my family had the absolute pleasure of living across the street from the Longo family on St. Jane Avenue. Our daughters Catherine and Michaleigh very quickly became the best of friends. I'll always remember Kristin as the most loving mother - always with a smile and a hug, a baby on her hip - and looking fabulous the whole time! As I sit with my own children and we talk about this very sad time for your family, I can't help but picture your mom and different snap shots in my mind of each of you as you were growing up. Catherine and Gianna in the Barbie jeep, Joey with all his hockey gear and Jared with that big belly and a laugh twice as big! Your mom is so very proud of each and everyone of you - you are all she talked about. Our family has been very blessed with your friendships and please know we love you and your family will be in our prayers.

Kristin was a great friend, co-worker and one of the best mothers I know. Kristin was always smiling, laughing, keeping everyone at MetLife upbeat while she was there. Kristin touched the lives and hearts of all her friends and family as well as anyone who got the honor to meet her. Kristin- you will be sadly missed and never forgotten.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and all the friends of Kristin. May God Bless all.

I grew up in Frankfort and knew Gina--I remember the Palumbo's to be a beautiful family. My husband and I are heartfully sorry for this horrific tragedy that has touched your lives.

Dear Palumbo Family,
May the grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ fill each of you and lift you above the sea of hurt that may seem to be enveloping you. Keep in mind that the veil that seperates you from your loved one is thinning everyday. She is with you and wants you to be sure that she is not suffering in any way, now. Allow Kristen to reach out to you to dry your tears. Allow her to warm you with her peace and happiness that only those that have gone before us know.

May God Bless her and most importantly YOU. You have an angel that now untimely is watching over all of you more so than before, May God Bless all of you with all the good Lord can give us to get through this.

To the Palumbo Family - I am so sorry for your loss. Kristin was one of my dearest friends at St. Mary's. We spent hours playing and laughing, being silly and having fun. It was Kristin's smile and great sense of humor that made her such a wonderful person. She could turn the most boring day into a memorable one. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I especially feel for her children - I pray they always keep her close to their hearts, because even though I only ran into Kristin on occasion - two things always stood out - her beautiful, friendly smile AND her love for her children. May God grant you strength at this very difficult time.

I remember Kristin from work at MetLife several years ago. She was a kind and beautiful spirit. I am so saddened for her children, her parents and all of the extended family members that her passing has left here on earth. It is difficult to grasp the concept that we are here but for a brief wink of time, and that we will spend eternity with the Lord. I truly believe that Kristin is waiting with open arms in heaven for the day when her family members arrive, so that she can live for eternity with you all. My prayer is that your family's will live every day to its fullest, and that you will make Kristin proud for all of your lives.
