Schuyler - Mr. John Joseph Delaney, 82, of State Route 5 passed away peacefully Monday, September 14, 2009 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
John was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on May 27, 1927, the son of the late John Patrick and Eleanor Gertrude Tierney Delaney and attended schools there. John served with the United States Navy during World War II in the European Theater and was Honorably Discharged on June 8, 1946. He was united in marriage with Kathleen Marie Lindsay in 1954 in Dorchester, MA. Mrs. Delaney passed away on January 2, 1994. John was employed as an Electrician for Boston State Hospital in Boston until his retirement in 1979. Mr. & Mrs. Delaney relocated to Schuyler in 1990.
John is survived by one daughter, Lindsay Delaney and her companion James Witham of Schuyler; and one son, Dennis Delaney of ME; his close friends, the Luther family of Schuyler and Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral will be held Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 11:00 in the Christian Assembly of Schuyler, Rt 5, Schuyler with Rev. Robert Burge, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, MA. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort
