Frankfort - Mr. Frank A Kipper Frankfort - Mr. Frank A Kipper, 88, of 103 Mill St passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. He was born in Frankfort on April 16, 1921, the son of the late Achille John and Anna Abato Kipper. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1939. He served with the US Army during World War II in the European Theater with the 748th Tank Battalion. Frank was married to Mary Caruso on February 9, 1946 in St. Mary's Church. Mr. Kipper was employed by GE, Utica and later by Union Fork & Hoe Co, Frankfort for many years. Following his retirement he was employed by OTB in both Herkimer and Utica offices. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a former member of American Legion Post #845, Frankfort. Frank served as the Mayor of the Village of Frankfort from 1977-1979. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Kipper; two daughters & sons in law, Carol Ann & Anthony La Valla and Sylvia & Gary Grippe all of Frankfort; two sons & one daughter in law, John & Emily Kipper of Sauquoit and Frank Kipper and his companion, Cindy Renninger of Frankfort; one brother & sister in law, Louis & Mary Kipper of FL; his grandchildren, Gina La Valla & Scott Campione, Lorrie & her husband, Michael Bass, Tammy & her husband, Zan Maddox, Michelle & her husband, Harold Griffin, Nadine Grippe, Tara Grippe & her companion, Matt Trodler, Lia Grippe, Gary Grippe & his fiancée, Libee Smith, Amanda Malek, Cassandra Malek, Kayla Kipper and Sharma Kipper; his great grandchildren, Brittany Bass, Michael Bass, Samantha Griffin, Giovanna Campione, Noel Dawson, Gianni Grippe, Paige Moyer and Morgan Grippe; his in laws, Lena Kipper, Phyllis & James Caruso, Rosemary & Chuck Coppola and Elizabeth & Philip Tangorra all of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Gatto and Infant Rose Kipper and two brothers, Joseph Kipper and Eugene Kipper. His funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:45 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, Pastor Emeritus and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the US Army.
