Frankfort - Mrs. Mary C. Jackson, 93, formerly of Frankfort and the Claxton Manor, Herkimer passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 in Eastern Star Home.
She was born in Frankfort on April 25, 1916, the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Cacciatore Costello. She attended Frankfort schools. On March 3, 1945 she married her best friend and the love of her life Dominick "Otty" Jackson. Mr. Jackson passed away on November 11, 1990. Mary was at one time employed as a seamstress for several local dress shops and later by General Electric in both the Broad St and French Rd plants for many years. She was a member of Frankfort United Methodist Church, Young At Heart Senior Citizens, Friends of the Frankfort Library and the United Methodist Women's Club. Her family will always remember the times they spent together when she delighted in cooking and baking for everyone.
Mary is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Marie & Wallace Spaulding of Candor, NY Joanne & Richard Gates of Marcy, and Joyce Jackson & Peter Houghton of Duanesburg, NY; four sisters and two brothers in law, Carm Jackson of Clayville, Eva Camerona of Yorkville, Frances & Gerald Roberts of Utica, and Irene & Jack Deveans of Utica; two grandchildren, Christopher Spaulding and Elise Gates and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Phyllis Jones & Tina Costello and one brother, Anthony Costello.
The celebration of Mary's life will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in the Frankfort United Methodist Church, Acme Rd. Frankfort with the Rev. Robert Wollaber, pastor. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory maybe made to the Frankfort United Methodist Church or one's favorite charity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone at the Eastern Star Nursing Home for the care, the compassion, and the understanding given to our mother.
