Mrs. Anna M Christensen, 90, of 105 Christensen Rd. passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Frankfort Hill on November 6, 1918, the daughter of the late Samuel and Cora Inman Edwards. She attended Rock City School on Frankfort Hill. She was married to Frederick Christensen on January 25, 1936 in Utica. Mr. Christensen passed away on August 13, 1980. Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She always opened her heart and home to her family and friends. Her greatest love was her family first and foremost and flowers, birds and animals in the fields around her home.
Anna is survived by two sons and daughters in law, James and Sara Christensen and Frederick and Josephine Christensen all of Frankfort Hill; two daughters and sons in law, Nancy and Ed Hamlin of Frankfort Hill, and Cathy and Paul Antonik of Poland; two sisters, Alice Leitz of Frankfort Hill and Grace Castello of Utica; her brother in law, Bud Kaylor of Utica; nine grandchildren, James and his wife, Julie Christensen, Mark and his wife, Diane Christensen, Eric and his wife, Missy Christensen, Stephen and his wife, Pat Christensen, Sandy and her husband, Michael Talarico, Alec Hamlin, E3 Lana Hamlin US Navy, Jason and his wife, Megan Cavo and Anna Antonik; thirteen great grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Sean, Megan, Douglas, Brian, Michael, Stephen, Olivia, Andrea, Audrey, Owen and Caden and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one grandson, Benjamin Hamlin on January 24, 1993; one granddaughter, Cathy Jo Christiansen on January 19, 1965, one sister, Ethel Hayes and two brothers, Harry Edwards and Roger Edwards.
Her funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 12:00 PM in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. Wilton Rose, officiating. Interment will be in Frankfort Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 10AM until the time of her funeral service.
Anna's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of St. Luke's Memorial Hospital's 3 West for the wonderful care and kindness shown to her during her stay and passing. A special thank you to her "personal physician," Dr Paula Veechio and staff for the care and comfort shown to Anna in her later years.
