Frankfort - Mr Asa Corwin Jr formerly of Joslin Hill Rd. passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica
Asa was born in Rushsylvania, Ohio on August 31, 1926, the son of the late Asa B. and Grace Riffle Corwin Sr. He graduated from Ashland High School in Ashland, KY with the class of 1944. Mr. Corwin enlisted in the Air Corps Division of the United States Army, serving in Germany during the occupation immediately following World War II. He was honorably discharged from his military service and attended Ohio Northern University. He later graduated from Bliss Business College in Columbus, OH. He was married to Jean Usher. Mr. Corwin was employed an assembler for Remington Arms, Ilion until his retirement in 1986. He was an avid horseman and he and his wife enjoyed training equestrian students. While living in Ohio, he was a member of the East Liberty Church of Christ.
Asa is survived by his wife Jean, two sisters and one brother in law; N. Geraldine Robson of East Liberty, OH, and Maxine and James Marine of Sun City, AZ., thirteen nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Evans; and two brothers in law, Raymond Evans and Howard Robson.
His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be in East Liberty Cemetery, East Liberty, Ohio
