Ms. Helena Zastawny Herkimer - Ms. Helena Zastawny, 93, formerly of Stimson St. passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. She was born in Psary, Kielcz, Poland on June 8, 1922, the daughter of the late Tofil and Maria Kozit and she attended schools there. She was married to Roman Zastawny in 1949 in Poland. The couple came to America and settled in Herkimer in 1963. Roman passed away on March 12, 1984. Helena was employed by Allegro Shoes, Little Falls for many years. She was a former communicant of St. Mary's Church, New York Mills. Helena is survived by her beloved friends and neighbors, Ted and Beverly Sosnoski of Wildwood, FL and several cousins and neighbors. Her funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:00 AM in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus & St Casimir Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, September 18 from 9-10 at Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
