Obituary of Tekla Tillie Leve

Herkimer - Mrs. Tekla Tillie Leve, 91, of State Rt 5 passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2009 in her home. She was born in Shenandoah, PA on February 12, 1917, the daughter of the late Wasil and Efrosinia Hudyncia Krenichyn and she attended Herkimer schools. She was married to Stephen Leve on September 23, 1945 in SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church. Mr. Leve passed away on May 19, 1966. Mrs. Leve was employed by Salada Foods, Little Falls with over 46 years of dedicated service. She was a member of S.S. Peter And Paul Orthodox Church & the St Anna Sisterhood, AARP and the Town of Herkimer Senior Citizens. Tillie loved spending time with her son, Steve and his family especially at their camp on 6th Lake, taking bus trips and playing bingo. As a faithful member of SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, she was often seen helping to make bread, cookies and perogi's for the many bake sales and events. Tillie is survived by her loving and dedicated son & daughter in law, Steve & Jackie Leve of Mohawk; one sister, Helen Ciko of E. Herkimer; her sister in law, Mildred Krenichyn of Herkimer; two step grandsons, Eric Del Medico and Joel Del Medico; her nieces & nephews, Ellen & Boris Glus, Mildred & Rodney Lowe, John & Sharon Ciko, Michelle Ciko, Sharon & Michael Ritz, Laura & Lee Howell, Danalee & Leon Capone, Lane & Kathy Krenichyn, Daryl & Vicki Krenichyn, Scott & Sue Krenichyn, Lisa Holynski, Carol & Charles Higgins, Denise Paul, Kevin & Laura Krenichyn, Wayne & Judy Levi, Dale & Darlene Levi, John & Linda Levi, Sonya Levi, Jim & Mary Ann Carroll, Art & Jenny Dunckel, Marty & Judy Dunckel, Harvey & Marilyn Dunckel, Larry & Joni Sargeant, Tom & Patty Long, Beverly Matusik, Kathy & Frank Kapusta; her close friends, Millie Jwaskiewicz, Anna Herko and Francis Zuis and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Steve Krenichyn and Daniel Krenichyn and one sister, Mary Pupchek. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 am in S.S. Peter And Paul Orthodox Church with Archpriest James M. Jadick, officiating. Spring interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Parastas will be held Monday at 7:30 pm with Father. Jadick officiating. Members of the Town of Herkimer Senior Citizens will meet Monday at 4:30 at the funeral home for services.
