Mrs. Joan Gala Clark Ilion - Mrs. Joan Gala Clark, 79, of 599 Spinnerville Gulf Rd. passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Olyphant, PA on December 13, 1936, the daughter of the late John and Ethel Mezick Gala. Joan attended West Winfield schools and graduated from Mount Markham High School with the class of 1954. She was married to Bruce G. Clark on September 3, 1955 in SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church. Bruce passed away on March 12, 2013. Joan was employed by General Electric, French Rd. Plant and later for Herkimer County Cheese, Ilion for many years. She was a member of Frankfort United Methodist Church. Joan is survived by two sons and one daughter in law, Bruce John Clark and his companion, Cheryl Leatz of Jamesville and Lawrence and his wife, Tina Clark of W. Winfield; her cherished grandson, Joseph Clark; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy Kaltoff of Ilion and Mildred and Ted Alexanderowicz of Mohawk; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Rose Gala of Cape Coral, FL; her in laws, Nella Mae Harter, Marilyn and Michael Paragi, Metro and Joyce Demchko and Adrian Clark and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Edward Gala and one sister, Marian Demchko. Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. Robert Wollaber, officiating. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 13 from 4-7 PM at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
