Mrs. Mayme V Tassa
Frankfort - Mrs. Mayme V. Tassa, 88, of 230 First Ave. passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born in Little Falls on July 29, 1920, the daughter of the late Benedetto and Josephine Copertina Vaniglia. She attended Little Falls schools and graduated from Utica Free Academy. Mayme was united in marriage to August T. Tassa on September 1, 1940 in Little Falls. Mrs. Tassa was employed in Quality Control for Mohawk Data Science, Herkimer for many years until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of New Life Church. Mayme was an extraordinary wife and mother who was a wonderful homemaker and fabulous cook. Home and family were the hallmarks of her life. Her beautiful flowers and care of wildlife gave her great joy in her later years. Up until the end, she managed a two story household whose flowers were the showcase of Frankfort for years. Mayme is someone who lived every day of her life her way. Faith in God transcended the many trials of life. One of the highlights of her life was a 1990 trip to Italy where she traveled to her parents' birthplace in Sicily.
