Yorkville - Mr. Carmello Michael Di Cono, 77, of 53 Myers Ave passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on May 8, 1931, the son of the late James and Victoria Rinaldi Di Cono. He attended Ste. Anne's Academy and later attended and graduated from St. Jude's High School, Jackson Heights, Queens with the class of 1949. Carmello served with the US Army during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged on April 19, 1960. He was married to Bernice Lynch on October 20, 1965 in Frankfort. Mr. Di Cono was employed by Union, Fork and Hoe Co., Frankfort for many years until his retirement in 1991. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Diamond Service Club of the Union, Fork & Hoe. Carmello is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice Di Cono; two sons & one daughter in law, Paul "Deek" & Amy Di Cono of Long Island and Laurence "Deek" Di Cono of Yorkville; his grandson, Christopher Di Cono; one brother, Frank Di Cono of Spring Hill, FL; one sister & brother in law, Lucille & Charles De Santo of Hankins, NY; his sister in law, Virginia Lynch of Utica and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 am in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. Alfred Lamanna. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
