Frankfort - Mrs. G. Barbara Stewart, 85, of 119 Brice Rd passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Guernsey, England on December 14, 1922, the daughter of the late Frederick R. and Margaret Blower and she attended schools there. During WWII, Barbara met her future husband, TSgt Robert Stewart, US Army. The couple were married on May 26, 1945 in Liverpool, England. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert Stewart; one daughter and son in law, Jill & Frank Palumbo of Frankfort; her grandson, Matthew Palumbo & his companion, Brooke Bennett and several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by one sister, Eileen Reid. Her funeral will be held Friday morning at 11:00 am in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. Robert Wollaber, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
