Mr. Russell J. Archer
Frankfort - Mr. Russell J. Archer, 82, of 103 East Ave passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Otsego Manor, Cooperstown.
He was born in Ilion on April 25, 1925, the son of the late Percy and Anna Johnson Archer and he attended Frankfort schools. He served with the US Navy during World War II. He was married to Iris Hoffman on April 4, 1945 in US Navy Chapel, Macon, GA. Mr. Archer was employed as a Tool Inspector for Bendix and later Lucas Aerospace, Utica until retirement in 1990. He was a member of Ilion Baptist Church and an exempt member of the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department
Russell is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Iris Archer; two sons & daughters in law, David & Sue Archer of Ilion and Robert & Kim Archer of Frankfort; two daughters and sons in law, Cynthia & John Bonfardice and Bonnie Shipman & her companion, Robert Small, all of Frankfort; one sister, Alice Hayes of Fayetteville; his nephew, Lloyd & his wife, Donna Bagg of Ledyard, CT; twelve grandchildren, David & his wife, Kelly Archer, Daniel & his wife, Rhonda Archer, Paul Archer, Kimberly Archer, Rebecca Lyatuu, Amy Archer & her companion, Matt, Robin & her husband, Rasheed Singano, Andrew Archer, John Bonfardice & his fiancée, April, Jamie Bonfardice & her fiancée, Michael, Michele Johnson & her fiancée, Luis and Eric Shipman; thirteen great grand children and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his step mother, Flora Archer.
His funeral will be held Monday morning at 11:00 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, officiating. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Frankfort Fire Department will meet Sunday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home for services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Russell's memory may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Oneonta. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
