Janice and Jerry, read your Mom's obituary. Sorry for your loss. What fond memories we have of all your family in Jordanville. We think of you often and talk about how wonderful your Dad and Mom were to us when we all lived in Jordanville. Your Mom is rejoicing with you Dad, John and the other loved ones who have gone on ahead of her. Will pray for you two and your families.

Dear Jerry, Pat, Janice, Owen, Michele & families,
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of dear Aunt Merle. Such a stoic individual. My last encounter with her was in Little Falls Hospital just after the loss of my beloved Tom. We chatted for at least one half hour and she was such an inspiration to me. She made me smile and laugh as we discussed the passing and so many precious moments of Dad, Tom and Johnny. I went to see her to offer my assistance and in the end found that she guided me through a difficult time and found myself laughing , as your Dad always did with their most precious and unforgettable stories of their younger days. And she still greeted me with her enlighting smile and strength...as she dressed and said "I'm out of here." I reflect fondly on our trips to Jordanville and going to Uncle John's and Aunt Merle's to swim in "The pool." What wonderful childhood memories. I wish you all comfort and peace in your memories, as difficult as your loss may be. She is home and I know God has one great golf team with him right now. Could you ask for more...Aunt Merle, Uncle John and Dad...Maplecrest in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
With much love and affection,
Cousin Laurie Stark-Scanlon

I will always remember the beautiful cake Aunt Merle made for my high school graduation. It was delicious, too. We always had fun when we went to her house and swam and swam and swam. I am going to miss her. I am glad I got to visit with her in July 2002.

We will miss Aunt Merle and her hospitality when we visited upstate. She was so helpful when Cyndy's father passed away a few years ago. She was very special to us.

Janice, Jerry and family, we were sorry to hear your mother passed away. Several years ago my sister Kari stopped to pick up a Whirly that your father had fixed for her. We had a wonderful visit with Uncle Johnny and Aunt Merle. They filled us in on each of your families and your children. Within a year after our visit Uncle Johnny passed away. I am so glad we took the time to visit with your parents. Take care.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have lost a good friend. I shall always remember the good conversations we had as I drove Iris to Utica to the eye doctor. We also enjoyed picking blueberries at the "blueberry patch" outside of Herkimer. I remember the walks we had around Mohawk. I'm so glad we had a wonderful conversation on the telephone about one month ago. We talked for one hour!! Remember, she is in a better place now and with your dad and brother. My prayers are with you.
