Mr. Charles F. Judge
Frankfort - Mr. Charles F. Judge, 85, of 118 Hillcrest Rd. passed away Friday, March 14, 2008 in the Masonic Care Community after a brief illness with his family by his side.
He was born in Columbus, OH on December 12, 1922, the son of the late Ralph and Grace Dempster Judge. He attended Frankfort schools and was a graduate of Frankfort High School. Charles served with the US Navy aboard the USS Converse during WWII as a Signalman First Class in which the ship received the Presidential Citation and eleven Battle Stars. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Charles was married to Mayme Cardinal on September 13, 1944 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Mrs. Judge passed away on February 6, 2004. Mr. Judge worked as Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds for Mohawk Data Science Herkimer, NY until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Ilion; the American Legion, Frankfort, The Frankfort Fire Department as well as several other organizations throughout the community.
Charles is survived by two sons and daughters-in laws, Donald & Joan Judge of E. Syracuse, NY and Charles & Barbara Judge Jr. of Portland, ME; five grandchildren, Teisha, Kristy, Steven, Nicholas & Patrick; one great-grandson, Jack; one brother & sister-in-law, Donald & Shirley Judge of N. Stonington, CT; one sister-in-law, Verna Nyman of Boston, MA; a special nephew and his wife Ray & RoseAnn Cardinal of Frankfort, as well as several other nieces, nephews & cousins.
His funeral will be Tuesday morning at 9:30 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm Monday at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. The Frankfort Fire Department will gather for ritualistic services at 7pm.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the Brooklyn Neighborhood of the Masonic Care Community for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Charles during his stay there.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Charles' memory to the Masonic Care Community 2150 Bleecker St., Utica, NY 13501. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
