Hazel & Bob Dellavia posted a condolence
Saturday, March 1, 2008
We were so sorry to hear of Dottie's passing. We got to know her through her involvement with the Friends of the Old Forge Library. Dorothy was an active member and an eager volunteer. She spent many an hour helping children learn to read, baking "healthy" brownies for after program gatherings and bake sales, manning the money box at fundraising events, and pushing the sale of "Adirondack Reflections" an anthology of prose and poetry from the Summer Writers Workshop, in which she was a frequent participant. Dorothy's smile could light up a room and she was a wonderful and caring friend. We know she will be greatly missed by her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.
In sympathy,
Hazel and Bob Dellavia
Old Forge, New York

My mother was a loving caring person, always thinking of others before herself. She enjoyed her volunteer work with literacy & friends of the library, she spoke of it often. She was very proud of her grand children and would bring you up to date with their trials and tribulations. She also spoke of,that if she known how much joy her grandchildren were going to be,she would have had them first!!!She woke up every morning with a smile and were's my coffee. Our conversations where spirited and always full of Irish humor.I was honored with her presents in her final days.Mom you have gone to heaven and directly in my heart to be remembered forever.Heaven is where the heart is.May you rest in Peace

We offer our prayers and thoughts to Dorothy
Marie Manore, a friend of ours for many years in the Old Forge, New York area. She was always very pleasant when we met each other at social functions or casually over the years. She was always very considerate of people and loved her family very much, as our many conversations with her always reflected her caring for all mankind. She will be missed by Margaret and I and all that knew her. She always wore a warm smile even in times when we knew she wasn't feeling well. Always upbeat and always spoke well of her friends and people in general. She was very intelligent and could converse on many subjects. The ole Trooper and Margaret will miss you Dorothy. You'll never be forgotten by us.
