Obituary of Ann Marie Bono Smithson

Frankfort - Mrs. Ann Marie Smithson, 70, of 239 Second Ave. passed from the arms of her loved ones into the waiting arms of her family members who predeceased her on Sunday, July 5, 2015 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. She was born in Ilion on July 31, 1944, the daughter of the late Leo and Fanny Mamie Paratore Bono, She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1962. Ann Marie was married to the love of her life, Ronald Smithson on June 22, 1963 in St. Mary's of Mt. Carmel Church, Frankfort. The two celebrated 52 years, a long and lasting relationship. Ann Marie enjoyed being with her family and loved going to camp at Singing Waters Campgrounds in Old Forge. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Ann Marie is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Smithson; one son and daughter in law, Scott and Kelly Smithson of Herkimer; one daughter and son in law, Kimberly Ann and Harold Raymond Wehrle II of Frankfort; the pride and joy of her life, her beloved grandchildren, Cheyenne Rosalie Smithson and Harold Raymond Wehrle III; her in laws, Joseph Scarafile and Gary Klein, both of Utica, Barbara Smithson, Robert and Jane Smithson and Mary and Bernard Jory, all of Ilion and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Rosalie Scarafile and Mary Ann Klein ,her special aunt, Ada Favat, her father in law and mother in law, Arthur and Virginia Smithson and her brothers in law, Richard Smithson and James Emrich. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Interment will be in Mt Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 4-8 in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
