Mr. Charles L. Dovi
Frankfort - Mr. Charles L. "Charlie" Dovi, 59, of 122 Brookside Dr. passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 in his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Ilion on July 18, 1957, the son of Joseph and Marie Schiffler Dovi and he attended Frankfort Schools. He served with the US Army with the Armorer Unit Supply and was Honorable Discharged on January 8, 1976. He was married to Pamela Burns on November 7, 1986 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Charlie was employed as the Building Supervisor for Buck Property Maintenance, Whitesboro. He was a devoted husband,father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors having bonfires with family and friends. He cherished being with his grandson, nieces and nephews. Only his family and friends could truly appreciate his unique sense of humor.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Dovi; one son, Christopher Dovi and his fiancé, Danelle Depeyster of Utica; his father and mother, Joseph and Marie Dovi of Frankfort; two brothers and one sister in law, Thomas, Joseph And Michele Dovi all of Frankfort; one cherished grandson, Sebastian Charles Dovi; his mother in law, Lorane Dibble; his in laws, Ernest Burns, Kim Burns and Gary Sickler, Beth and Vito Carbone, Sherri Burns, Todd Burns, and Randy and Elena Dibble; his nieces and nephews, Bryanna Dovi, , Kristin and her husband, Kellen Takoch, Karin and her husband, Robert Zink, Kaleb and his wife, Holly Burns, Jessica Gushue, Donny Gushue, Anthony Picente, Vito Carbone, Nicole Carbone, Krystal Carbone and Sophia Dibble and several aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
His funeral will be held Saturday morning August 6, 2016 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Elizabeth St. Frankfort. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Frankfort.
Charlie's family would like to extend the sincere appreciation to Dr. Razia and her staff at Slocum Dickson, the staff at the Infusion Center at Slocum Dickson, the nurses and staff of the 6th floor at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, Dr. Soults and his staff of New Hartford, Dr. Lawrence and his staff at Faxton - St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Cancer Center, all the X ray Technicians at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital and Hospice Care for all the compassion and generosity shown to him during his illness and passing.
