Little Falls - Mrs. Rachel Caiola, 82, of 578 E. Monroe St passed away suddenly Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Bassett Health Care.
She was born in Frankfort on March 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Ciallelo LaValla. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School. Rachel was married to Joseph D. Caiola on November 30, 1987 in St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls. Joseph passed away on May 5, 2015.
Rachel was the owner and operator of Middleville Rest Home, Middleville. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort and Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. Rachel loved her family and enjoyed cooking and providing for them. She loved her trips to the casino.
Rachel is survived by her son and daughter in law, Daniel and Debra Palmisano of Frankfort; her grandchildren, Daniel and his wife, Kim Palmisano of Frankfort, Audrey and her husband, Michael Saracco of Long Island and Alexa Ray Palmisano of Frankfort; five great-grandchildren, Vincienza Palmisano, Antonia Palmisano, Daniel Palmisano, Sophia Saracco and Michael Saracco; her in laws, Charles and Angie Caiola, Florence Caiola, Joan Murphy, Tina Caiola all of Frankfort, Cecilia Morton of Ilion and Mary LaValla of Little Falls; her dear friend, Tony DeLuca; her special cousin, Joyce Cristiano and several nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful and caring neighbors. She was predeceased by one sister, Fanny Delisle, two brothers, Earl LaValla and Louis LaValla; her nephew, David Ditata and several in laws.
Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 24 from 4-8 at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
