Obituary of Lawrence M. Pumilio

Mr. Lawrence M. Pumilio Frankfort - Mr. Lawrence M. Pumilio, 86, formerly of Palmer St passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. He was born in San Guiseppe Jato, Province of Palermo, Sicily on March 27, 1921, the son of the late Ferdinando and Cologera Patellaro Pumilio. He came to this country as a child, attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1940. He served with the US Army during WWII. Following his military service, he attended and graduated from Yale Photography School with the class of 1946. He was married to Catherine Cesario on November 24, 1949 in St. Agatha's Church, Canastota. Mrs. Pumilio passed away on September 5, 1996. Larry was the owner and operator of Larry's Photo Studio and was later employed as a Photographer for Northrop Space Division, Hollywood, CA, Univac, Library Bureau and later as a custodian for Frankfort Schuyler Central Schools until his retirement in 1991. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the American Legion Post #845, Frankfort. Lawrence is survived by one daughter & son in law, Carolyn & Mark Cramer of Sherrill; one son & daughter in law, Fred (Potter) & Kathy Pumilio of Frankfort; his grandchildren, Caira Cramer-Walter and her husband, Michael Walter, Andrew Cramer, Audra Cramer, Candace Pumilio and Anthony Pumilio; his in laws, Josephine Pumilio of Utica, Joseph & Mary Cesario of FL and Virginia Mariano of Canastota and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Pumilio, John & his wife, Frances Pumilio and Frank Pumilio His funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:30 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, Pastor Emeritus. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Contributions in Lawrence's memory may be made to Reese Road Elementary School's PTO. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Larry's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home and the St. Luke's Home for the wonderful care and kindness shown to him during his stay and passing.
