Mrs. Mary M. Rocco
Frankfort - Mrs. Mary Margaret Simonette Rocco, 89, of 131 Eighth Ave passed away Sunday, March 18, 2007 in Folts Home.
She was born in Frankfort on May 19, 1917, the daughter of the late Dominick and Pietra Loiacano Simonette and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Gino Rocco on November 27, 1937 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Mr. Rocco passed away on January 26, 1984. Mary was at one time employed as a sewing machine operator, although most of her life was spent being a homemaker, raising four sons and taking care of her parents. Mary was a life long resident of Frankfort and was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Young At Heart Senior Citizens. One of her greatest pleasures while living at Streamside Manor was her ability to make St. Joseph's pasta and home made bread for her friends and neighbors.
Mary is survived by four sons & daughters in law, Joseph & Phyllis Rocco of Frankfort, Donald A. & Christine Rocco of Johnstown, Eugene & Carol Jean Rocco of Frankfort and Larry & Alicia Rocco of Rome; one uncle, Sam Simonette, Ilion; eleven grandchildren, nine great grand children and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew Simonette and Joseph Simonette and one sister, Josephine Guglielmo.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 12:00 pm from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 12:30 pm in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Tuesday morning from 9AM until the time of the service at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young At Heart Senior Citizens will meet Tuesday morning at 11:00 at the funeral home for services. Contributions in Mary's memory maybe made to the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department's Ambulance Corps or the Folts Home.
Mary's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Kodasy, Dr George, the nurses and staff of the Folts Home for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her and them during her illness and passing
