Mr. Carl F. Vivacqua
Frankfort - Mr. Carl F. Vivacqua, 78, of 109 E. Canal St passed away Thursday, February 8, 2007 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Frankfort on June 3, 1928, the son of the late Fred and Teresa Sylvester Vivacqua and he attended Frankfort schools. Carl served with the US Navy during World War II in the Atlantic Theater and was Honorably Discharged on February 25, 1948. He was married to Dolores Thomas on June 2, 1951 in St. Mary's Church. Mr. Vivacqua was employed as a Lead Man for Union Tools, Frankfort until his retirement in 1989 after 35 years of dedicated service. Carl was a man of deep faith and a devout Catholic and was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. He was a member of the Addolorata Society, American Legion Post #845 where he served as Past Commander and Chaplain, V.F.W Post Frankfort serving as the present Commander, the Young At Heart Senior Citizens as Chaplain and the Diamond Service Club of the Union Fork and Hoe. Carl loved to cook and enjoyed sharing his ability with others.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Dolores Vivacqua; one son & daughter in law, Thomas & Bea Vivacqua; one daughter, Carla Vivacqua; his grandson, Brad Vivacqua all of Frankfort; three sisters, Frances Eramo of Albany, Mary Foglia and Agnes Wilk both of Frankfort; three brothers & one sister in law, James Vivacqua and Sid Vivacqua both of Frankfort and Fred & Ann Vivacqua of Ilion; his in laws, Mary Vivacqua, Lydia Vivacqua, Julia Carnavale, Thomas & Mary Thomas and Anthony Thomas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five brothers, Joseph Vivacqua, Nicholas Vivacqua, George Vivacqua, Frank Vivacqua and Salvatore Vivacqua.
His funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 1:30 pm in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Saturday morning from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens will meet Saturday morning at 11:30 at the funeral home for services.
Carl's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of St. Luke's Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown to him during his stay and passing.
