Helen Korch Guzik
Mohawk - Helen Korch Guzik, 82, of 486 Route 5S passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in Little Falls Hospital.
She was born in Towerhill, PA on March 17, 1924, the daughter of the late Afton and Amelia Shypski Korch and she attended Richfield Springs schools. Helen was employed as a Knitter for Duofold, Mohawk and Ilion plants until her retirement in 1983 after 18 years of dedicated service. She was also very active on the family farm in Richfield Springs. She was a Communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church.
Helen is survived by one daughter; one son; her sister, Kathryn Guardi of Richfield Springs; one sister in law, Laverne Korch, San Diego, CA; her special friend, George Aney; six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Peter Korch on June 26, 1991.
Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11:30 am in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St. Herkimer where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Spring interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs. Calling hours will be Friday afternoon from 2-4 the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer.
