Mrs. Mary T. Gizowski Herkimer - Mrs. Mary T. Gizowski, 72, of 243 Mohawk St passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2006 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. She was born in Herkimer on August 26, 1934, the daughter of the late Dominick and Domenica Minnie Losito Piacente. She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1952. She was married to John Sylvester Gizowski on June 27, 1964 in Rochester. Mr. Gizowski passed away on November 2, 1999. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church. Mary is survived by survived by five sons & daughters in law, John & Kim Gizowski Jr and Robert & Kim Gizowski all of Baldwinsville, Karl & Lynn Maine of Kennebunk, ME, Wayne & Mary Maine of Fresno, CA and David & Gayle Maine of Herkimer; one daughter & son in law, Linda & Rick Clapper of Mohawk; her grandchildren, Emilee Rose Gizowski, Jessica Maine, Eric Maine, Sarah Maine, Tiffany Maine, Ashleigh Fobare, Alexis Fobare, Joshua Gizowski and Morgan Gizowski; two great grandchildren, Joshua Hamilton and Victoria Andrea; two brothers & one sister in law, Nicholas Piacente of Herkimer and John & Effie Piacente of Waterford, NY; her beloved friends and neighbors, Peter, Tina, Philip, Mary, Theresa & Thomas Pham of Herkimer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Raffaella Battaglia Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:30 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 am in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Calling Hours will be Sunday from 2-6 pm at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
