Please accept our deepest sympathy during this difficult time. We always had so much fun with your Mom on the Magnificent Yankees Drum Corps bus trips. She was a beautiful, caring, woman. We lost our Mom 4 years ago and it leaves such an empty place in your heart but the wonderful memories of loved ones live on and make us smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Joan's family: We are terribly saddened to hear that Joan had passed away. We first met her in her wonderful restaurant Sisters, and while it was open, virtually never thought about going to another restaurant. The food was excellent, but it was her smile, her warmth and her kindness that made the restaurant a second home for us, and though we only knew her for a brief time, whenever we saw her about town, she greeted us as warmly as family members. She was a wonderful woman. Please accept our condolences.

Dear Gina and Family,
Please accept our deepest and most sincere condolences in the passing of your Mother, Joan. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and especially with her children and her grandchildren. We know how very much she will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Although I only spent a small amount of time with Joan, it was enough to make me remember how she was always warm and inviting and she always made me feel so very welcome in her presence. She was quick to laugh and interested in learning about others and in serving them - whether it was with a kind and encouraging word or some wonderful homemade cooking.
It warms my heart to remember her love for my brother, Dean, and I'm so grateful to her for the kindness that she always showed to him and also to our family. I thank God for Joan's influence in the lives of her children and grandchildren and I pray that all of you would find comfort in knowing that Joan lives on through each one of you. May God bless you all and may you find comfort in your sweet memories of your time with Joan. All of you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
In God's Love,
Deborah Stephens, Ken Stephens and Cory Landreth

Dear D'Alessandro Family:
We deeply regret the sad news that Joan has passed away. We know she is with the Lord and her soul rests in peace. Although we didn't see each other often we considered her a part of our family- as it should be because she loved our son Dean and never failed to tell us about it. We recall from the first time we met what a grand lady she was. Her smile , caring manner and friendly demeanor put us at ease right away. She always placed the needs of others ahead of her own. When Dean died she was the tower of strentgh; a pilar for the rest of the family during such a trying time. She loved and doted on our grandchildren (Luci and Robert) and never tired for caring for those around her.
We will miss her love, smile and friendly attitude. We are so blessed for having had her among us and will miss her terribly. God Bless her.

Dear Todd, Michele, Luci and Gina: I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I was very shocked when I saw the obituary in today's paper. I just recently moved back to the area and had no idea that she had been sick. I can't imagine what you are all going through. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Kristen Klenotiz-Sheppard

Dear Michele, Luci and Todd,
I was shocked to see the paper today, I thought the last I heard this was all curable with hormones. Did your mother ever get to see the tape I loaned her, Leap of Faith?
We are so sorry for your loss; she was a one in a million woman, very special, caring, charismatic, sharp. We loved visiting her and seeing her living room and shells and how she loved her brother planning to care for her diet, etc. She revelleled in all your concern. I'm glad she met with Tim Behrendt at Shawnagunk Preserve and that it helped.
This time of year is hard for me and George as I never really had time to grieve, nor did he for his mother as he had to take care of his father who was falling apart. As painful as grieving is and unpredictable, it is healing and part of the process. You have a loving angel who is always with you. Read Embraced by the Light,by Betty Eadie, if you haven't already, it is a God-send when you lose someone close. Love, Louise
