Mrs. Doris A. Amento Frankfort - Mrs. Doris A. Amento, 84, of 234 First Ave passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 in Siegenthaler Center. She was born in Frankfort on June 20, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Fragale Nicolette and she attended Frankfort schools, graduating from Frankfort High School. She later attended Utica College. Doris was married to Charles J. Amento on November 10, 1951 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Charles passed away on June 15, 2010. Doris was employed as an Account Clerk in the Superintendent's Office at Frankfort Schuyler Central School District, Frankfort for many years until her retirement in 1991. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Doris is survived by one son and daughter in law, Charles Jr and Gail Amento of Albany; one daughter and daughter in law, Lynn Amento and Jayne Halpenny of Rochester; her granddaughter, Rachel Amento; her in laws, Don Oyer of Frankfort and Sandra Nicolette of Ft Myers, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Joseph Nicolette and one sister, Joanne Oyer Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, May 18 from 6-8 PM at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Doris' family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Nancy Lombardo and Toni Edwards, for the excellent care shown to her and the family during her illness. The family would also like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Siegenthaler Center for their compassion and caring. Contributions in Doris's memory may be made to Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department, 158 Litchfield St, Frankfort, NY 13340 or Siegenthaler Center, Middle Settlement Rd, New Hartford, NY 13413.
