Mr. Charles Scaparo Frankfort - Mr. Charles P. Scaparo, Sr., 60 passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 11, 2006 in Bassett Health Care. He was born in Utica on April 21, 1946, the son of the late Philip and Rose Aiello Scaparo. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler High School with the class of 1965. While attending school he was very active in sports especially wrestling. He later was a coach for the Frankfort-Schuyler Central Junior and Senior wrestling team. He was married to Darlene Galotti on July 20, 1974 in St. Mary's Church. Mr. Scaparo was at one time employed by MDS and later for the Village Of Frankfort. He was the owner and operator of Valley Archery, Frankfort for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and served as a New York State Bow Hunter Instructor. Charlie was a three time New York State Bow Hunter Indoor State Champion. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved the sport of hunting especially with his son, Charlie Jr. and his brother in law, Nick. Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Scaparo; one son & daughter in law, Charles & Jennifer Giovinazzo Scaparo of Utica; one daughter, Gina Scaparo of Frankfort; one sister & brother in law, Josephine & Richard De Tore of Port Orange, FL; his mother in law, Lorraine Galotti of Frankfort; his in-laws, Nick Galotti & fiancee, Susan Griffin of Utica and Carmela & Ray Tarasiewicz of Oriskany; his nieces & nephews, Dr Joanne & her husband, Eric Nakamura, Dr Tammy De Tore, Pamela Tarasiewicz, Trisha & her husband, Michael Altamando, Michael Tarasiewicz, Laura Tarasiewicz, Lisa & her husband, Torsten Wollerman, Geni & her husband, Scott Everill; his "twin brother", Michael & his wife, Karin Spohn; close friends, Lee & Theresa Frye and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Charlie was blessed with many, many wonderful friends who were like family to him. His funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling Hours will be Sunday from 3-8 pm at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort.
