Mr. Earl DeLuke Sr.
Frankfort - Mr. Earl J. De Luke Sr., 90 passed away Monday, May 15, 2006 in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home.
He was born in Frankfort on June 27, 1915, the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Kipper De Pellio and he attended Frankfort schools Earl was married to Josephine Di Matteo on June 25, 1938 in St. Anthony´s Church, Herkimer. Mrs. De Luke passed away on November 18, 1992. Earl was employed by the Laborer´s Union Local #35, Utica for many years and also served as the Union Steward. He was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church.
Earl is survived by one son, Earl De Luke Jr of New Hartford; two daughters, Donna Rae Kinney of Frankfort, and Mary Ann Varlaro of Ilion; one sister, Anne Swiger of Frankfort; one brother & sister in law, Raymond & Ida De Luke of VA; his in laws, Eva Macrina, Pat Moschetto both of Herkimer and Mary De Luke of Frankfort; his grandchildren, Joseph P. & his wife, Carol Kinney of Herkimer, Joseph & his wife, May Varlaro of CA and Kristen & her husband, Michael Treen of N. Utica; three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lena Ruffalo and Mary De Pellio; five brothers, Joseph De Luke, Robert De Luke, Anthony De Luke, Frank De Pellio and Gene De Pellio.
His funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11:30 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 12:00 noon in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, Pastor Emmeritus. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:30 am at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Earl's memory may be made to the Chapel Fund of Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
The De Luke family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home for the wonderful care shown to Earl during his stay and passing.
