Obituary of Lois M. Ruffalo

Mrs. Lois M. Ruffalo Herkimer - Mrs. Lois M. Ruffalo, 79, formerly of Galinski Apts and Ridgewood Rd. passed away Friday, March 31, 2006 in St. Luke´s Memorial Hospital. She was born in Columbia Center on May 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Henry and Emily Hall Werthman. She attended Columbia Center schools and graduated from Mohawk High School with the class of 1942. Lois later attended and graduated from Excelsior School of Business, Utica with the class of 1944. She was married to Carmen Ruffalo on July 28, 1958 in Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. Mr. Ruffalo passed away on September 13, 1974. She was at one time employed by Remington Rand, Remington Arms and later by Bendix. Mrs. Ruffalo was a Book Keeper for Dr. Vladimudi, Ilion for many years. She was a Communicant of St. Francis De Sales Church. Lois is survived by her beloved son & daughter in law, Carl & Shari Ruffalo of Whitesboro; two cherished grandchildren, Megan Ruffalo and Nathan Ruffalo both of Whitesboro; three brothers & one sister in law, Burton Werthman of Little Falls, Joseph Werthman of Denver, CO and John & Kay Werthman of New York Mills; one sister in law, Yotta Werthman of Little Falls, her nieces and nephews, Donna Werthman, Elaine & Daniel La Barge, Diane Vore, Burton Werthman, Danny Werthman, Alicia Werthman, Sandy Werthman, Paul & Sue Werthman, Brian Werthman, Kathy Werthman & Tim Stadler and several cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Elizabeth Jones, Helen Dzimitrowicz and Emily Werthman and two brothers, Richard Werthman and Paul Werthman. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 11:00 am in St. Francis De Sales Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Monday from 4-7 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Contributions in Lois's memory may be made to American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Lois' family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Nurses and staff of the Herkimer County Office of the Aging, St. Luke's Home Burton North and St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, especially the CCU, for the wonderful care and kindness shown to her.
