Mr. Nicholas C. Kinney
Frankfort - Nicholas C. Kinney, 69, of 126 8th Ave passed away peacefully, Friday, February 17, 2006 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer, following a long illness.
He was born on April 15, 1936, in Ilion, the son of the late Henry and Catherine Onarato Kinney. He graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler Central School, Class of 1954. Nick was married to Concetta Camarata on August 27, 1978 in St. Mary´s Church, Frankfort.
Nick was employed as a custodian for Frankfort Schuyler Central Schools. At one time, he was also employed as a meat cutter for the former Chicago Markets and Melrose Supermarket. Nick was an active communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. He was a member of Addolorata Society, St. Francis Di Paolo Society, CSEA Union, U.F.C.W. and a local gardening club. Nick served in the United States Army.
Nick was an avid Yankees and Giants fan. He loved gardening and supporting all of Frankfort sports. He also was an umpire for baseball at the high school and college levels. Nick was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed greatly by all of his family and friends.
Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-seven years, Concetta; three sons and daughter-in-law, Frank Phillips of Omaha, NE, Donald and Jessica Phillips of Little Falls and Jason Kinney of Omaha, NE; his sister: Mary Jane Vallesse of Frankfort; his brother, Henry Kinney of Bethlehem, PA; his grandchildren, Samuel Christian Phillips and Casey Crum; his mother-in-law, Anna Camarata of Frankfort; his in-laws, Joe And Renee Camarata of Frankfort, Grace Pontero of Frankfort, Clara Kinney of Allentown, PA, several nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Ronald Pontero and Premo Vallesse, and his father-in-law, Frank Camarata.
His funeral will be held 9:30 AM, Tuesday, from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas, pastor. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be 5-8 PM, Monday at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home.
Nick's family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care, Valley Health Services and Dr. Patel and his entire staff for all their loving and compassionate care.
