Mrs. Mary Margaret Maurice Sinard De Matteis
Charlottesville, VA. - Mrs. Mary Margaret Maurice Sinard De Matteis, 96, of 2615 Ravenscroft Way passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in Martha Jefferson Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Frankfort, NY on February 25, 1919, the daughter of the late Michael and Louise Nicolette Maurice. She attended Frankfort schools and was a graduate of Frankfort High School and was the graduating class' Valedictorian. She later attended and graduated from Albany School of Nursing, Utica School of Commerce and San Bernardino Valley College with a degree in Business. Mary Margaret was married to Enos Charles Sinard in May of 1939 in Amsterdam. Enos passed away on February 24, 1964. She was later married James Vincent Paolozzi who passed away in 1968 and Angelo De Matteis who passed away in 2005. Mary was an Administration Assistant for US Air Force, California until her retirement in 1979. During her employment, she was the recipient of many awards for her skills and was proud to receive the US Air Force Worldwide Outstanding Administrator and Executive Support Award from President Gerald Ford in Washington DC. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge and its College of Regents, American Legion Aux. Post # 66, Camden and the NARFE.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Sheryl Ann Sinard of Charlottesville, VA; one son, Jerome Sinard of Frankfort, NY; one sister and brother in law, Ann and her husband, Eugene Halliday of Horseheads, NY, five grandchildren, Mark Penge, Stephen and his wife, Shelly Penge, Gary Sinard, Dr Tammy Oatman OD and her husband, Ryan Pace, Chad and his wife, Connie Oatman; five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Stephen, Nicole, Alissa and Teagan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Ronald Sinard; five sisters, Rosalind Stevens, Theresa Hazard, Jo Noel Miller, Jane Hanlon and Louise Zegarelli and one brother, Dr Peter Maurice.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 am in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with Brother Edward Bick, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3:30-6:30 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
