Frankfort - Mr. Joseph A. Rubino, Sr., 89, of 4160 St. Rt. 5 passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born in Frankfort on May 23, 1925, the son of the late Carl C. and Mary Spatto Rubino and he attended Frankfort Schools. He was married to Blanche Pohleven on September 29, 1956 in Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. Blanche passed away on July15, 1989. Joe was employed by Univac for 35 years and later for Remington Arms for 10 years. He was the owner and operator of the Rubino Family Farm in Schuyler for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort.
Joseph is survived by three sons, Carl Rubino and his fiancé, Mary Ann Senior of New York Mills, Joseph and his wife, Tammy Rubino and Michael Rubino, all of Schuyler; his granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Rubino; one sister, Theresa and her husband Ray Scouten of Skaneateles and his aunt and uncle, Ann and Jack Desmond of Anaheim, CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Frank Rubino on October 21, 1997.
His funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
