Mrs. Rosemarie E. Chirico Herkimer - Mrs. Rosemarie E. Chirico, 87, of 113 Mohawk St passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Herkimer on September 7, 1929, the daughter of the late John F. and Rose Donato Cassella. She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1947. She was married to Vincent G. Chirico on November 23, 1950 in St. Anthony's Church. Vincent passed away on September 24, 1992. Rosemarie was the Receiver of Taxes for Town of Herkimer, Herkimer until her retirement in 2013. She and her husband, Vince were the co-owners of Chirico's Restaurant, Herkimer until their retirement in 1985. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a member Herkimer Lady Elks BPOE Lodge #1439. Rosemarie is survived by two sons, David Chirico of Herkimer and Vincent Chirico and his domestic partner, Katie Foley of Webster; two grandchildren, David Chirico Jr and Jean Marie Chirico and several cousins. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30 from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:00 in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial by the Rev. Quy Vo, pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
