Mrs. Cecelia M. Grygiel Frankfort - Mrs. Cecelia M. Grygiel of 299 Center Rd passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2005 in St. Luke´s Memorial Hospital. She was born in Utica on July 9, 1916, the daughter of the late Albert and Estelle Koszutowski Schram and attended Utica Schools. She was married to Carl Grygiel on May 8, 1944 in Holy Trinity Church. Mr. Grygiel passed away on April 11, 2001. She was at one time employed by the Fort Schuyler Knitting Mill. Mr. & Mrs. Grygiel were the owners and operators of Herrings Inn, Carthage and later Pine Hills Golf Course, Frankfort from 1954 until their retirement on February 26, 1985 at which time their son, Carl became the owner. She was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church. Cecelia was a quiet woman who was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. To her, her family came first and foremost. Carl and Cecelia were a wonderful example to their family showing them love and special values. Cecelia is survived by two daughters & sons in law, Carol & Calvin Odin of Frankfort and Christine & Michael Bamberger of Floyd; one son & daughter in law, Carl J. & Becky Grygiel of Frankfort; two sisters, Barbara Ladock of Utica and Dorothy Schram of New Hartford; one brother & sister in law, Albert & Betty Schram of Utica; her grandchildren, Heidi & her husband, Manson Glover, Heather Del Medico, Gretchen & her husband, Fred Van Steen, Aaron Bamberger, Matthew Bamberger, Kristen Grygiel, Audrey Grygiel, Natasha Grygiel and Clayton Grygiel; four great grandchildren, Madison Del Medico, Gregory Van Steen, Gracie Del Medico and John Glover; her special friend and third daughter, Kim Gelfuso and several neices, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence Schram and Adam Schram and five sisters, Anna Schram, Rose Newlove, Claire Monroe, Edith Shaw and Mary Carlone. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas, pastor. Interment will be in Frankfort Center Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cecelia's memory may be made to Frankfort Center Volunteer Fire Department or All Soul´s Chapel of Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the church vestibule on Saturday morning. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort. Cecelia´s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to her caregiver, Cindy Cross and the nurses and staff of St. Luke´s Memorial Hospital´s 1st and 5th floors for the wonderful care and kindness shown to her during her illness and passing.
