Obituary of Dominic J. Frank

Mr. Dominic J. "Ming" Frank Herkimer - Mr. Dominic J. "Ming" Frank, 85, of 208 West Smith St passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 in Valley Health Services. He was born in Frankfort on January 14, 1920, the son of the late Dominic and Josephine Rich Frank and he attended Frankfort Schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1939. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater as an Air Traffic Controler and was Honorably Discharged on December 9, 1945 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. While serving with the military, Ming attended and graduated from the Army Air Force Technical School. He was married to Aurora "Daver" Scalise on December 27, 1947 in St. Anthony´s Church. Mr. Frank was employed as a Group Leader for Univac, Ilion & Utica Plant for 31 years until his retirement in 1977. Following his retirement, Ming was employed by Parlow, New Hartford until retiring in 1983. He was a Communicant of Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church and a member of the V.F.W Post #4915, Herkimer and the American Legion Post #25, Mohawk. Dominic is survived by his beloved wife, Aurora "Daver" Frank; two sons & daughters in law, Dominic Frank & Karen Peterson of Herkimer and Mark & Alice Frank of St. Michael, MN; three grandsons, Matthew Frank, Alan Frank and Mark Frank; his in laws, Helen Tripolone of Herkimer, Ed & Eleanor Scalise of FL and Emma Scalise of Herkimer and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Albert Frank, Francis Frank and Joseph Frank and six sisters, Mary Di Camillo, Rose Tamburro, Jennie Lille, Catherine Giffune, Flora Cavaretta and Louise Palante His funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 AM in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Members of the VFW will meet Wednesday evening at 6:45 at the funeral home for services.
