I had Florence many many years ago at RDC in the Bernstein building!! Flo was My Girl, with a Mind of her own!! She was something else always helping out on the ward, enjoyed folding the laundry, getting the other girls Shoes together in Sets!! One thing she would do for Us on the ward was ( when the laundry dept would bring the big carts filled with washcloths, towels etc she would go take All the Washcloths and bring them to our ward) the other wards knew where they were and had to come and get some for their use...Lol!! Everything had to be just So and to her liking( if we cleaned in the cubicles where there were 4 beds and a cupboard for each girl she knew if her bed wasn't back in the right spot( like 1/8th of an inch!! When RDC was Closing she didn't want to move it had been her home for so long ( I had bid to house 9 and had invited her to come and try it out there and she agreed. After a few visits she had moved in and liked it very much. She seemed more cooperative with some changes, even enjoy getting her hair permed and cut and dressing in pant outfits too. Florence was a wonderful soul, and Loved By Many of the Staff!! RIP Florence....Love Patti Goodman( she always called Me (Gibby Bobby) I'm sure she's in Heaven helping out with chores...God Bless You!!

I have worked with Florence since she came to the Turin Arc, we became very close. She would say I'm a young lady like you or your my only friend which everyone knew wasn't true, she was just buttering me up for her holiday gifts. She always gave me my orders for what she wanted for EVERY holiday. I loved to listen to her sing and talk about her family.
I miss her very much and the building isn't the same without her, but I know she's jumping and skipping in heaven. :) I miss you Florence. Love Laurie Ehlers

A sweet spirit and a lively soul is how our family will always remember her! She was with our family for a number of years. She never cared how old she was, if she wanted to do something she would do it! At 70 years she I remember her wanting to go play in the snow on a sled. So my mom, Mary, took her out and she grinned ear to ear the whole time! Rest in peace sweet lady ?

Florence sure was someone very set in her own way, making sure the laundry was done by a certain time. Every meal had to be done and served on time, she'd be right there to let you know it was time to eat. She'll always hold a special part in our hearts at post street IRA. She was the boss, that's for sure!!!
