Mr. Robert H. Harris Sr. Frankfort - Mr. Robert H. Harris Sr., 77, of 233 Mann St. passed away Friday, April 1, 2005 in St. Luke´s Memorial Hospital. He was born in Utica on July 31, 1927, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emory Harris Sr and he attended local schools and graduated from Ilion High School. He served during World War II in the US Navy, later the US Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines and was Honorably Discharged after his service. He was married to Theresa Barberio on July 7, 1956 in St. Mary´s Church. Mr. Harris Sr. was employed as a Machinist for Chicago Pneumatic, Utica for many years until his retirement in December of 1989. Following his retirement, Bob was employed by the Frankfort Town Hall and by Reese Road School in the Maintenance Department. He was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church and a member of American Legion Post #845 and a Past Commander, St. Francis Di Paolo Society and the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department. He was a diehard Yankees & Giants fan and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa Harris; two sons and one daughter in law, Robert Harris & his fiance, Mary Bolanowski and Mark & Julie Harris all of Frankfort; two cherished granddaughters, Dina Marie Tedesco and Rebecca Lynn Harris; his in laws, Julia & Steve Eskoff, Mary Barberio, George Shank Green and Dorothy Harris and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Scott Harris and one sister, Blanche Mc Daniels His funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the American Legion will meet Monday evening at 7:15, St. Francis Society at 7:30 and the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department at 7:45 at the funeral home for services. Contributions in Robert's memory may be made to Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department & Ambulance Corps. Bob´s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of St. Luke´s Memorial Hospital´s CCU, Dr. Kodsy, Dr. Eldridge, Dr. Kall and the nurses and staff of MVNH for the wonderful care shown to him during his illness and passing.
