Margie and Mary Lou,
I hope I can get through this! I am so sorry about Aunt Rose. A part of me died with her. A part of who I am today is from her influence. The many visits, talks, all the summer overnights, her front porch. She was my safe place when I was growing up. The place I knew I could go with unconditional love and acceptance. She knew me better then I knew myself. There was a special feeling when I walked into her house. There was always a smile on her face, gladness in her voice and food on the table. She and Uncle Sam welcomed us, ALL 8 of us all the time. She and Uncle Sam were always happy to see us. I admired, respected and looked up to Aunt Rose. I loved to visit her when I was a child and when I became an Adult. I remember visiting on the hill. The great doll house Margie and I played in. All the talks on the front porch. How precious the time was. The value in the memories...priceless! I will forever remember Her and Uncle Sam waving at us on the porch smiling as we drove down the street...that is the picture I will keep in my mind and her gentleness, kindness and love will remain in my heart forever! Yesterday God went to a field of beautiful flowers and he picked the one he wanted to bring home...that was my Dear "Aunt Rose"
I love you all. You remain in my heart, thoughts and prayers.
Linda

It's hard to put into words how I felt about my Godmother Rose Piazza. Many of my families precious memories were visiting my Aunt Rose and Uncle Sam in Frankfort week after week.
We were always greeted with smiles, hugs, and kisses. Even when we left their home, we would make sure we looked back on the porch as we drove away to see them waving goodbye. It never failed. Smiles on My uncle "Sams" and Aunt "Roses" faces. It left an impression on my family that left us smiling all week. We hated to leave their little Frankfort home. We were always welcome.
When I grew older, I dated a girl that went to Frankfort high school who I am now married to, and I would always stop to see Aunt Rose. I would walk from Utica to Frankfort, then Aunt Rose would make me lunch and talk about when we were kids and how much she enjoyed our visits. Uncle Sam would make sure he talked to me about social securitiy before I left while Aunt Rose rolled her eyes and smiled. As I made my way home, I would always look back as I did when I was a young boy and see them on the porch with those smiles and waving goodbye.
As Robert Frost wrote in one of his poems, "Nothing Gold Can Stay". He was so right. To me, every moment spent with Aunt Rose, Uncle Sam, Margy, and Mary Lou were Golden. This is a great loss to my family. We will miss Aunt Rose dearly as we do Uncle Sam. Those days are gone now but I am left with the memory of their smiles. I love you Aunt Rose. I will never forget your kindess and caring ways. You will be in my heart forever.
Love your Godson
Sal
