Mr. James J. Colonna
Herkimer - Mr. James J. Colonna, 74, of 225 Pullman St passed away peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2005 in his home.
He was born in Herkimer on March 14, 1930, the son of the late John and Pasqualina Lisanti Colonna and attended Herkimer schools. James served with the US Army during Korean Conflict and was Honorably Discharged on February 9, 1953. He was married to Jean Mason on January 30, 1954 in St. Anthony´s Church. Mr. Colonna was a Technician for M D S, Herkimer for many years until his retirement in 1990. Following his retirement, he was employed as a Soldering Instructor at Mohawk Valley Resource Center. He was a Communicant of Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Colonna; one son & daughter in law, Thomas & Debra Colonna of Centerville, VA; one daughter, Diana Laymon of Herkimer; his grandchildren, Nathan Colonna, Michael Colonna, Stephanie Laymon and Christopher Colonna; one brother, Anthony Colonna of Herkimer; two sisters & one brother in law Rose Marie Picente and Donna & Peter De Marco all of Utica; his in laws, Roger & Mary Mason, Carmeta & Henry Muller and Joan & William Carman and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel Colonna in 1927 and Bernard "Billy" Colonna in 1998
His funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:30 AM in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery later this spring. Calling Hours will be Monday from 5-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
