Please accept my deepest sympathy, all my love to Jody and your whole family. I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was a huge inspiration to me during my college years and I will never forget his kind words and support throughout my college years and after. He was a wonderful man and my heart goes out to your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry for your loss. I credit Mr. Nicolette with much of my life successes. He was my math teacher at Ilion High School in the mid 60s. He was the man that "flipped-the-switch" inside my head and made sense of algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. I enjoy my retirement after thirty-five years as an electronics technician because that switch got flipped. My life was truly effected by Mr. Nicolette. May he rest in peace.

Mary Ann and I were saddened to hear of Joe's passing. Joe was a colleague and friend for many years. He was a man of high professional standards, excellent character and a charming personality. He will be missed by his Oneonta friends, and we offer our deepest sympathy to his family.
We regret that professional commitments prevent our attending his memorial service. John & Mary Ann

My sympathies go out to the entire Nicolette family. When our father got sick, he heard of Joe's passing. He was very saddened to know of this. I guess, so sad, he made the journey to see his friend, among many others. Please know that our memories of Mr. Nicolette will never fade. He lives on in our hearts. Somewhere there is a sideline of great coaches drawing "x's" and "o's" in heaven. God Bless you all.

What a lovely tribute to Joe in The Daily Star! He certainly had numerous accomplishments, the most important being a loving and supportive family.

The world has lost a good man.
Joe was my coach and friend in the very early 60's and I remember when he first came to Ilion H.S.
Joe always had a smile and a good word for everyone and took the time to listen.
My condolences to his family.
Andy

So Sorry to hear of Joe passing away. I was very saddened to know that had happened. I was lucky enough to know the family for many years. John was my best friend, and Jodi was right up there to. I still have on VCR tape that my mother took when jodi and myself were in the backyard in the pool. maybe we were one year old? Sandy was pregnant with John in the video. Also Joe was in it. I will always remember your father. Remember John? when you broke your arm? I was lifting you up at my grandmothers house. Oh man, your dad was not very happy with me. But he forgave me when you got your cast off... Great memories, Great man. Your in my thoughts during this time. My family misses you all very much. Please keep in touch. Be Strong. Your friend forever, David Erbe.
