Mr. Vincent Jim Pileggi
Frankfort - Mr. Vincent Jim Pileggi, 86, of 615 Third Ave Ext passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005 in at the home of his daughter and son in law, Mary Jane & Gary Baker.
He was born in Frankfort on June 1, 1918, the son of the late Vincent and Mary Castranova Pileggi and he attended Frankfort schools. He served during World War II with the US Army in the European Theater as a Tech 4 in the 2nd Chemical Mortar Battalion and was Honorably Discharged on April 15, 1946. He was married to Jennie Bono on November 23, 1939 in Frankfort by Rev. Frank Alamena. Mrs. Pileggi passed away on January 22, 2005. Jim and his in laws were the owners and operators of Maple Leaf Farm, Frankfort for many years. Mr. Pileggi worked as Machine Repair Man for Chicago Pneumatic, Utica, N. Y. until retirement in 1980. Following his retirement he was a driver for Ryder bus for several years. He was a member of New Life Church, Protection Ave and served as Head Usher for many years, the V.F.W Post #502, Frankfort - Ilion and the American Legion Post 845, Frankfort.
Jim is survived by one son & daughter in law, Rev. Joseph J. & Lorrain Pileggi of Mobile, AL; one daughter & son in law, Mary Jane & Gary Baker of N. Utica; his grandchildren, Rick & his wife, Mary Jo Scienza, James & his wife, Doreen Scienza, Jay & his wife, Heather Scienza, Lisa Boster, David & his wife, Wendy Pileggi and Brian Pileggi; his great grandchildren, Miranda, Vinny, Corey, Ashleigh, Raygan and David; four brothers, Andrew Pileggi of New Smyrna Beach, Fl, Ross Pileggi of Herkimer, David Pileggi and John Pileggi both of Ma.; one brother in law, Joseph Bono of New Hartford; one sister in law, Josie Bono of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Victoria Antonucci and two brothers, Joseph Pileggi and Michael Pileggi.
His funeral will be held Saturday morning with full Military Honors at 10:15 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 11:00 AM in New Life Church, Protection Ave. Herkimer with the Rev. Joseph Jansen, Pastor officiating. Interment services for Jim and his wife, Jennie Pileggi will be held following the church service in Oak View Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Friday from 5-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
