Vivian and John Kapusta posted a condolence
Thursday, December 30, 2004
Our condolences to Stephanie and John in the passing of Uncle Steve. Uncle Steve was a legend. Many times we sat in his kitchen on a Sunday morning having coffee with him, Aunt Rose and Grandma Licari. Who can forget sitting on the patio in the backyard in the warmer weather and Uncle Steve showing off his garden. And of course Uncle Steve was Vivian's Godfather a special uncle in that way too. And so, Uncle Steve is at rest with Aunt Rose, out of the sorrow is the joy that they are once again togethr. It is true Uncle Steve and all of our relatives are part of the Greatest Generation. A generation that gave us the values and vision for our own future. Grant eternal rest to him O Lord.

My sympathy goes out to the whole family of Steve Rizzo, particularly Stephanie and John.
He was my favorite "uncle" and godfather, who was also my Dad's best friend. I will always remember running across the street to my Uncle Steve and Aunt Rose's home to save me from the well earned discipline threatened by my mother. There was always a friendly hand to guide me to a table of homemade Italian foods that seemed to make everything better, and a little touch of uncle Steve's red wine did not hurt either! He was a strong man with a big heart, and always ready to share his time with me. I always loved to sit around the kitchen table with the banter between Steve and Aunt Rose, done with much love and respect for each other.
Today, materially we have so much more than that generation, but in many ways we lack the spirit and vitality of a person like Steve Rizzo. I am very happy that Steve Rizzo touched my life, and hope his spirit lives on in me.
Arrivederci Dear Uncle, Godfather and Friend,
