Mrs. Julia Komendarek
E. Herkimer - Julia Komendarek, 96, of Formerly Of W. Carney Ave passed away Sunday, October 24, 2004 in Valley Health Services.
She was born in Herkimer on December 11, 1907, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Fietkiewicz and the first baby baptized in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. She attended Herkimer schools. She was married to Felix Komendarek on September 5, 1925 in St. Joseph´s Church, Herkimer. Mr. Komendarek passed away on October 19, 1962. Mrs. Komendarek was employed by Standard Furniture, Herkimer for many years. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church and a member of it's Rosary Society, Polish Community Home, East Herkimer Senior Citizens, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union of America. Julia is survived by one son & daughter in law, Edwin & Marilyn Komendarek of Herkimer; her grandchildren, Michael & his wife, Margo Dawidowicz, Cynthia & her husband, Timothy Purdy and Peter & his wife, Sharon Komendarek, several great grandchildren,great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one daughter, Evelyn Komendarek Dawidowicz On October 11, 1993, her grandson, Robert Dowidowicz and four sisters, Stella Lojba, Victoria Audycki, Stephanie Swietlikowski and Veronica Zientara
Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9:15 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 AM in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Members of the East Herkimer Senior Citizens will meet Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 and the Rosary Society at 6:30 at the funeral home for services. Contributions in Julia's memory may be made to Valley Health Service. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
